Pakistani Karate Fighter Explains Slapping Indian Opponent

Pakistani karate fighter Shahzaib Rind has clarified the incident that led him to slap Indian fighter Rana Singh before their fight in Dubai last month.

Speaking to Geo News, Rind stated that Singh had used offensive language against him and Pakistan both on social media and during the pre-fight press conference. After the presser, Rind confronted Singh, who he claims pushed and verbally abused him. In response, Rind slapped the Indian fighter.

The video of the altercation went viral on social media. Rind went on to defeat Singh in the subsequent fight with a quick knockout.

Rind highlighted his hard work and training in the United States for the encounter, despite Singh’s impressive record. He expressed his joy at meeting Bollywood star Salman Khan, who had witnessed some of his previous fights.

Rind, who began training in martial arts at age 8, emphasized his pride in being the first Pakistani to be inducted into the American League. He aims to showcase the positive aspects of Pakistan and Balochistan on a global stage.

Following his victory, Rind carried both the Pakistani and Indian flags, sending a message of peace and friendship. The gesture garnered significant attention on social media in both countries.

Upon his return to Pakistan, Rind expressed his ambition to win the world title. He emphasized his honor in representing his country and his gratitude for the support he has received.
