Panthers Eye South Carolina Wideout Legette in NFL Draft

As the 2024 NFL Draft approaches, teams are finalizing their draft boards. The Carolina Panthers have their eyes set on South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette, according to the player himself. Legette claims the Panthers have promised to select him with their first available pick at No. 33 overall.

The Panthers lack a first-round selection after trading it to the Houston Texans last year to move up to the first overall pick and select quarterback Bryce Young.

Legette’s stock has risen significantly after a breakout season in 2023, when he recorded 1,255 receiving yards, second only to LSU’s Malik Nabers in the SEC. At 6-foot-1 and 221 pounds, Legette showcased his explosive athleticism at the NFL Combine, running a 4.39-second 40-yard dash and posting a 40-inch vertical jump.

While Legette excels in short-to-intermediate routes, he has the potential to develop into a complete wide receiver with improved route-running skills. The Panthers are confident in his abilities and are eager to acquire and nurture this talented Carolina native.
