Paris 2024: A Look Back at Eight Iconic Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Since the modern revival of the Olympic Games in 1896, 29 editions have graced the world of sports. Held every four years, with brief interruptions due to world wars, the Olympics will reach their thirtieth edition this year in Paris. The opening ceremonies have become an event in themselves, as in 2016 when Rio de Janeiro enchanted with a vibrant celebration featuring Gisele Bündchen, funk music, and a focus on environmental issues.
