Parsvnath Developers CEO Apprehended at Delhi Airport After 60km Pursuit

Sanjeev Jain, the CEO and managing director of Parsvnath Developers, was apprehended by Delhi Police at Indira Gandhi International Airport after a dramatic 60-kilometer chase. The arrest followed Jain’s attempt to evade capture when police initially visited his residence on August 3, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The arrest came as a result of non-bailable warrants issued against Jain for failing to appear before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. These warrants stemmed from a consumer complaint filed by Rajat Babbar in 2017. A total of four non-bailable warrants and one bailable warrant from the commission were pending at the Shahdara police station.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary confirmed the arrest, stating, “Jain was arrested on Saturday by the STF team of Shahdara from the IGI airport following non-bailable warrants issued against the CEO for his inability to appear before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.”

The latest non-bailable warrant, issued on July 18, 2024, was specifically due to Jain’s non-appearance before the commission. Jain, a resident of DLF Phase 2, Gurugram, has been associated with Parsvnath Developers Private Limited for 32 years. The company, established in 1984, has operations in 37 cities across 13 states in India.

Jain, who holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune, and completed his schooling at Jain Khekra Inter College in Uttar Pradesh, was presented before the commission on Sunday following his arrest. He has been accused of failing to address the consumer complaint filed against him. The police statement stated, “Four non-bailable warrants and one bailable warrant from the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission were pending at the Shahdara police station against Jain.” He was produced before the commission on Sunday.
