A passenger was removed from a Delta Airlines flight at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport on Saturday morning after wearing a controversial t-shirt featuring former US President Donald Trump. The shirt depicted Trump flipping the bird and included a reference to an adult video, known as the “hawk tuah” girl video.
The incident, reported by the New York Post, unfolded when a fellow passenger complained about the shirt. Initially, airline staff asked the passenger to change the t-shirt or be barred from the flight. He initially turned the shirt inside-out, allowing him to board the plane. However, before takeoff, a Delta employee escorted the passenger off the flight after he flipped the shirt back to its original side.
The passenger claimed he was being kicked off the flight because of his shirt and referred to the flight attendant who was escorting him as “stupid-*** Wendy”.
Delta Airlines has the right to remove passengers from flights in situations deemed necessary for the comfort or safety of passengers and crew. Their Contract of Carriage specifically allows for removal of passengers whose “conduct, attire, hygiene or odor creates an unreasonable risk of offense or annoyance to other passengers.”
