The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) presents a remarkable speaker lineup for its Annual Summit 2024, to be held in the vibrant city of Macao, China, from May 15-17. This year’s summit, hosted by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and co-hosted by SJM Resorts, S.A., will delve into the theme of ‘Reimagining Tourism.’ This theme underscores the potential for a transformative shift in the Asia Pacific tourism industry, aiming to build a more resilient and sustainable future for travel and tourism in the years ahead.
PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid emphasizes the expanded scope of discussions at this year’s summit, encompassing areas such as travel technology trends, marketing strategies, tourism policy, and cultural advancements, to catalyze positive change across the tourism sector.
The summit features a prestigious roster of speakers, including Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes from the Macao Government Tourism Office, Daisy Ho from SJM Resorts, S.A., Dane Cheng from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Florian Sengstschmid from the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, and Fathmath Thaufeeq from the Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation, among many others.
The PATA Annual Summit 2024 program offers a comprehensive agenda of sessions and activities. Internal meetings, a Life Members Get-Together, a Power of Networking session, and an Education Roundtable kick off the summit. Day two includes the PATA Youth Symposium, Government and Industry Roundtables, Government Bilateral Meetings, and the PATA Chapter Congress. New additions this year, the PATA-WTCF China Dialogue and the PATA Kind Hearts initiative, highlight the summit’s focus on industry dynamics and community impact.
The main conference, spanning May 16th to 17th, will cover diverse topics such as the world economy, marketing in Asia Pacific tourism, business model innovation, and travel policy. Breakout sessions will delve into areas such as travel technology, educational tourism, and the impact of AI on travel agents, fostering critical discussions in line with the theme of Reimagining Tourism.
