A pedestrian was killed in an incident involving a CTrain in northeast Calgary on Friday, according to police. The incident occurred at approximately 10:12 a.m. at the intersection of 36th Street Northeast and 44th Avenue Northeast. YYC Transportation announced on X that emergency crews were responding to the scene to assist a pedestrian involved in an incident.
Multiple traffic lanes were blocked in the area, and northbound 36th Street was closed to traffic. The CTrain line was also closed for a period of time due to the incident. However, it has since reopened after being closed for construction related to the Stampede station.
