Throughout the afternoon, attendees can participate in various activities, including crafts for children, native tree seedling giveaways, and educational exhibits. The Shade Tree Commission is celebrating the municipality’s fifth year as a Tree City USA, a designation for communities committed to growing and maintaining their tree canopies. In recognition of this achievement, the commission will plant several new trees around the new pavilions in Universal Park. The event is free and open to the public.
