Peter Andre, the renowned singer and television personality, has disclosed that he and his wife, Emily, are down to two potential names for their newborn baby girl: Athena and Charlotte. The couple has been experiencing difficulties in reaching an agreement on a name since welcoming their third child together earlier this month. The couple’s inability to agree on a name has led them to affectionately refer to their daughter as “Bubba” in the meantime. However, Peter recently revealed that they have now narrowed down their options to two names.
Peter shared his name preferences in response to inquiries from his followers on Instagram. In response to one follower, he stated, “Athena is also a contender. I’m unsure how Emily feels about it, but I adore it.” He further responded to another fan, saying, “Charlotte is also a possibility. I like Charlie.” Just hours after disclosing that they were temporarily referring to their baby as “Bubba,” he made these name suggestions. “The love I have for our baby is one thing,” he wrote alongside a video of himself cuddling his newborn daughter. “The love I have for Emily is a completely different love. She is an incredible mother, and she has given us a truly wonderful gift. We all adore Bubba so much. And she STILL does not have a name.”
Peter and Emily have received numerous name suggestions from fans, but none have yet appealed to them. Peter, a father of five, has admitted that he has delegated the responsibility of choosing the name to Emily. Peter is the proud father of Amelia, 10, and Theo, 7, with Emily, and he also shares his eldest children, Junior, 18, and Princess, 16, with his ex-wife Katie Price.
“We are still no closer to a name for our newest bundle of joy,” Peter remarked in an interview with OK! Magazine. “Whenever Emily and I discuss it, it just gets put aside. Since Emily and I agreed for her to be the one to choose, it seems to have slowed down the process even more.” He also revealed that the couple has a deadline to make a decision soon as they have “less than four weeks before we have to register her.” Emily, 34, gave birth to their baby at Musgrove Hospital in Taunton, Somerset. The newborn weighed 7lb 3oz.
In response to a fan’s question about whether they had chosen a name, Peter confessed, “Still no name. Literally struggling. She doesn’t resemble any of the names we’ve considered.” Peter further stated in OK!, “We’ve been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but Emily and I don’t seem to agree on them. So I believe it is only fair that Emily decides – I hope she chooses a good one.”
