Peter Frampton to be Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Despite being eligible since 1998, Peter Frampton, the 74-year-old English-American guitarist and singer-songwriter, had to wait over three decades to receive his first nomination. However, when it finally came, he was voted in on his first attempt, securing a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024. This year’s inductees were announced during an episode of “American Idol,” with Frampton receiving the second-highest number of fan votes, trailing only the Dave Matthews Band. The top seven artists chosen by the public were combined with votes from official Rock Hall voters to finalize the Class of 2024. Frampton expressed disbelief at the honor, stating that he had come to terms with the possibility of never being inducted after so many years of eligibility. However, the overwhelming fan support that propelled him to the second spot in the fan vote came as a pleasant surprise. He expressed deep gratitude to his supporters, acknowledging their role in making the induction a reality. Frampton’s induction ceremony will take place on October 19th at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame itself is situated on the shores of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland, a city that Frampton holds in high regard. Notably, Frampton has been diagnosed with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. Despite this, he has continued to tour and perform, albeit while seated during his shows. His resilience and dedication to music have garnered admiration from fans and fellow musicians alike.
