Peterborough Police Use Stun Gun to Arrest Break-In Suspect
Early Sunday morning, Peterborough Police responded to a report of an unwanted man in a vacant and condemned building. Officers searched the building and located a man hiding in the washroom. One officer drew their conducted energy weapon, and the man was taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect, a 30-year-old Peterborough man, was charged with breaking into and entering a place to commit an indictable offense and failing to comply with a probation order. He was bound by a probation order that required him to keep the peace and be of good behavior.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday. This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of the Peterborough Police Service to protect the community from criminal activity and ensure the safety of both officers and residents.
