Phone Thief’s Flight from New York to Jersey City Ends in Arrest

After allegedly stealing a cell phone from a woman at the Christopher Street PATH station in New York City on Tuesday afternoon, 24-year-old Jason Porch attempted to flee to New Jersey. However, his escape was short-lived, as police were on alert and apprehended him at the Newport station in Jersey City following a brief chase. Porch was charged with attempted robbery, assault, menacing, harassment, interference with transportation, terroristic threats, aggravated assault to a police officer, resisting arrest, trespass, and disorderly conduct.
