The grand prize of the 13th annual Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year competition has been awarded to Chinese photographer Zhonghua Yang for their captivating image titled “Red Bean Paste Balls.”
Yang’s winning shot depicts a woman holding a tray of steaming red bean paste balls, encapsulating the essence of the holiday celebration in Xiangshan, Zhejiang, China. According to Caroline Kenyon, founder of the competition, the image exudes “light, shadow, mystery, and poignancy,” showcasing a perfect balance of elements.
The competition attracted entries from over 65 countries, resulting in thousands of submissions. A selection of the most visually stunning and tantalizing winning snapshots will be showcased at the Mall Galleries in London until June 9th.
