Halo Infinite’s multiplayer launch in November 2021 left fans disappointed when the Plasma Pistol lost its EMP effect. However, 343 Industries heeded community feedback and announced the return of this ability in the Banished Honor update. This update also introduces a new Banished-themed Operation, two Forge palettes, and the Exchange, a new method for earning cosmetics.
The Plasma Pistol’s EMP effect had been transferred to the Disruptor and Shock Rifle in Halo Infinite’s initial release, leaving the Plasma Pistol with limited utility. The Banished Honor update rectifies this by restoring the Plasma Pistol’s original functionality, making it a valuable tool for disabling vehicles once again.
In addition to the Plasma Pistol’s resurgence, the Banished Honor update brings numerous other enhancements to Halo Infinite. It introduces a new Operation based on the Banished faction, offering 20 tiers of rewards. Two new Forge palettes provide expanded options for custom map creation. Lastly, the Exchange allows players to utilize credits earned in matches to purchase previously released customization items.
Halo Infinite’s transition from seasons to shorter Operations has been ongoing since the conclusion of Season 5. These Operations, lasting between 4-6 weeks, have featured revised versions of popular events and the introduction of new customizable armor cores. The Banished Honor update marks the latest installment in this new approach to content delivery, offering a significant update for Halo Infinite players.
