PM Modi Slams Congress Over Inheritance Tax Proposal, Farmers Protest in Delhi for Unfulfilled Promises

Addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi vehemently criticized the Congress party, likening their manifesto to the thinking of the Muslim League. He particularly condemned the party’s proposal for an Inheritance Tax, asserting that it would hinder Indians from bequeathing their hard-earned property to their children, a move he described as “snatching” from the middle class.

In another development, Tamil Nadu farmers intensified their protests in the heart of Delhi by scaling a mobile tower and demanding that the government honor its previous commitments. Approximately 200 farmers arrived in Delhi armed with ploughs and flags to express their grievances.

Sam Pitroda, chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, sparked controversy by advocating for an inheritance tax similar to the one in the United States. However, his proposal drew immediate flak from the BJP, and the Congress party promptly distanced itself from his remarks.

Shifting gears to the realm of sports, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team head coach Stephen Fleming addressed the media after a match, expressing his desire for the team’s top-order batters to improve their performance. While commending Ruturaj Gaikwad for his impressive century, Fleming urged other batters to elevate their game and contribute more consistently.
