Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to make a significant visit to Maharashtra on Saturday, where he will unveil a range of initiatives aimed at boosting infrastructure development and rural prosperity. The visit, taking place ahead of the crucial state assembly elections, underscores the government’s focus on key sectors and its commitment to the people of Maharashtra.
In Mumbai, the highlight of PM Modi’s visit will be the inauguration of the Aarey JVLR to BKC section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase – 1. This new stretch, with its 10 stations (9 underground), is expected to significantly alleviate congestion and provide a much-needed boost to the city’s public transportation system. The fully operational line-3 is projected to serve approximately 12 lakh passengers daily, offering a convenient and efficient mode of travel for commuters.
Beyond Mumbai, PM Modi will also make a significant impact in Washim, where he will launch a series of initiatives focused on the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors. These initiatives, valued at approximately ₹ 23,300 crore, are designed to empower farmers and bolster the agricultural economy. The Prime Minister will also disburse the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, amounting to ₹ 20,000 crore, benefiting around 9.4 crore farmers across the country. Furthering the government’s commitment to renewable energy, PM Modi will dedicate five solar parks, with a total capacity of 19 MW, across Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana – 2.0. These solar parks, coupled with other agricultural initiatives, will contribute to sustainable and efficient agricultural practices.
In Thane, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects valued at over ₹ 32,800 crore. These projects include the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, which is estimated to cost around ₹ 12,200 crore, and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar, costing approximately ₹ 3,310 crore. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the Thane Municipal Corporation, a project valued at around ₹ 700 crore. These projects will bring about significant infrastructure improvements and enhance the overall quality of life in Thane.
