PM Modi to Visit Kargil War Memorial, Rahul Gandhi to Appear in Court, Celine Dion to Perform at Paris Olympics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay tribute to the bravehearts who fought in the Kargil War on July 26th, marking the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He will visit the Kargil War Memorial and also virtually launch the Shinkun La Tunnel Project, aimed at improving connectivity to Leh, especially during adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to appear before the MP-MLA court in Lucknow on Friday for a hearing related to a defamation case. The case was filed by local Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Mishra in 2018, accusing Gandhi of making objectionable comments about Amit Shah.

On a lighter note, Grammy-winning artist Celine Dion will be gracing the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 26th. This will be her first performance since announcing her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome in 2022. Finally, Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp is set to resume operations at its Mailiao refinery port on July 26th after being closed due to Typhoon Gaemi. The port was shut on July 23rd and is expected to reopen at 0600 local time (2200 GMT) on July 26th.
