PM Modi Welcomes ‘Deepjyoti,’ a New Calf to the Prime Minister’s Family

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a delightful addition to his family at Lok Kalyan Marg, his official residence. The newest member is a charming calf named ‘Deepjyoti,’ born to a mother cow residing at the residence.

PM Modi shared the news with heartwarming videos and photos on his social media, revealing his fondness for the calf. He described the birth as an auspicious arrival and explained the significance of the name ‘Deepjyoti,’ highlighting a symbol of light on the calf’s forehead. The video shows the Prime Minister lovingly garlanding the calf in front of Goddess Durga and then playfully interacting with the young animal.

In another post, PM Modi shared more photos showcasing his affection for ‘Deepjyoti.’ The montage shows him carrying the calf around the residence, spending time with it at his home temple, and even taking it out for a stroll in the garden.

This is not the first instance of PM Modi’s affection for animals. He is known for his love for birds and animals, with several photos showcasing his interaction with cows, peacocks, and other creatures. Earlier this year, photos were released of PM Modi celebrating Pongal/Makar Sankranti by offering fodder to a group of six cattle at his residence. These cows, believed to be permanent residents, belong to the Punganur breed, a unique dwarf breed from Andhra Pradesh, known for being the shortest-humped cattle in the world. Their small size makes them suitable for domestic environments.

PM Modi’s public display of affection for ‘Deepjyoti’ reflects a deeper connection to animals and Indian traditions, showcasing his appreciation for the importance of cows in Hindu culture.
