Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold a 2.5-kilometer-long roadshow in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, on May 15 at 8 pm. The event, aimed at garnering support for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Mihir Kotecha in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, will commence at Shreyas Cinema on LBS Road and culminate at Gandhi Market. To ensure robust security measures during the roadshow, the Mumbai police have issued traffic guidelines, leading to the closure of several routes. LBS Road, from Gandhi Nagar junction to Naupada junction, will be inaccessible for vehicles from 2 pm to 10 pm. Similarly, the Mahul-Ghatkopar road will be closed from Meghraj junction to RB Kadam junction during the same time frame. Additional road closures include Andheri Ghatkopar Link Road from Ghatkopar Junction to Sakinaka Junction, Gulati petrol pump junction from Hiranandani Kailas Complex Road, and Golibar Maidan to Ghatkopar Metro Station (West) toward Sarvodaya Junction. Motorists are advised to utilize alternate routes, such as the Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway, Andheri-Kurla Road, Saki Vihar Road, MIDC Central Road, Santacruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR), Sion Bandra Link Road, and Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR). The traffic diversions have been implemented to facilitate smooth movement and minimize inconvenience during the Prime Minister’s visit. Citizens are requested to cooperate with the traffic authorities and plan their commutes accordingly.
