Amit Shah: PoK Belongs to India, Proactive Steps to be Taken at Right Time
Union Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated India’s claim over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stating that it is an inherent part of the nation and no one can deny this right. He emphasized that proactive steps regarding the PoK issue would be taken strategically, considering both domestic and international factors.
Mass Protests Erupt in PoK
Amidst ongoing protests in PoK against increased electricity tariffs and subsidy cuts, Shah acknowledged the internal unrest but clarified that India does not intend to assert its authority based on these disputes. He emphasized that the resolution of the PoK issue remains an imperative for India.
Shah’s Criticism of Political Leaders
During an election rally in West Bengal, Shah criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for their perceived fear of Pakistan. He reaffirmed that PoK belongs to India and the nation will reclaim it.
Shah also took aim at Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar and JKNC leader Farooq Abdullah for their comments regarding Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities. He expressed concern that such statements could have detrimental consequences in a volatile region.
As the situation in PoK continues to evolve, India remains committed to addressing the issue at an opportune time while upholding its territorial integrity and strategic interests.
