Pokémon Go’s Sustainability Week has been a fan favorite since its debut in 2021, but the 2024 edition has left players disappointed.
The event commemorates Earth Day and has featured new Pokémon, shiny variants, and various rewards in the past. However, this year’s iteration lacks these perks. Player ‘Monoskimouse’ highlighted the decline in the event’s offerings over the last four years, showing that the 2024 version falls short in comparison.
Both collection challenges in the event require capturing and evolving only one Pokémon, offering limited excitement for players. Additionally, the event lacks the free bundle that included three incubators in 2021 and instead offers a ‘special offer’ that requires the use of PokéCoins.
The lack of new Pokémon or shiny variants has also dampened the event’s appeal. While players hope that the tie-in with Earth Day could bring something special, it doesn’t change the fact that the Sustainability Week has hit a new low in 2024.
