Popular Twitch streamer Alinity has been banned again, this time for copyright infringement. According to reports, she was banned while watching a reality TV series with her viewers and received a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) strike. To regain access to her channel, Alinity must complete ‘copyright school.’
This is not the first time Alinity has been banned from Twitch. Last year, she was banned for twerking. However, she was able to get her channel back after attending a therapy session.
In an email to Alinity, Twitch explained that she could remove the copyright strike by completing a module and a short quiz. The email also contained information on copyright law and Twitch’s DMCA process.
Alinity’s Twitch channel is still down, so it is unclear if she has completed the 30-minute course. According to Twitch’s guidelines, three copyright strikes will result in a channel being terminated.
Alinity’s ban has sparked discussion about copyright law and the responsibilities of streamers. It is important to note that you cannot stream content that belongs to other companies. Hopefully, Alinity will learn from this experience and be back online soon.
