Porter Airlines Expands Saskatoon-Toronto Service

Representatives from Saskatoon, its airport authority, and Porter Airlines marked the commencement of regular flights between the city and Toronto on Thursday at John G. Diefenbaker International Airport.

Stephen Maybury, CEO of the airport authority, underscored the importance of the additional Porter Airlines flight to Toronto, which provides passengers with more connection opportunities through the airline and its partners. This expansion brings significant economic benefits to the community.

Andrew Pierce, Vice President of Network Planning and Reporting for Porter Airlines, highlighted the expansion into Saskatoon as part of the company’s overall growth strategy, including new flights from Winnipeg. He emphasized Porter’s competitive edge as the only airline operating the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. This aircraft allows Porter to serve markets that other airlines cannot, as they either operate smaller or much larger aircraft.

Porter’s overall strategy is to make cross-country travel easier for Canadians during the warmer months and to provide flights to southern destinations in the colder months.
