Prajwal Revanna Case: Shocking Revelations in Bengaluru Rape Complaint

In a bombshell development, a 44-year-old political worker has accused Prajwal Revanna, the Hassan MP, of raping her in 2021. The complainant alleges that the Janata Dal (Secular) leader threatened her and her husband before raping her in his MP quarters.

She claims that Revanna recorded the sexual act on his phone and used the footage to blackmail her, forcing her into multiple sexual encounters between January 1, 2021, and April 25, 2024. In her complaint filed on May 1 in Bengaluru, the woman states that she was initially hesitant to come forward due to fear for her life.

The complaint prompted the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the Karnataka government. Prajwal Revanna has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 376 (2) (n) for repeated rapes, Section 354 (B) for assault with intent to disrobe, and Section 354 (C) for capturing images of a woman in a private act without her consent. Additionally, sections of the Information Technology Act, 2000, have been invoked against him.

The accuser’s detailed account of the alleged assault includes being alone with Revanna in his quarters when he locked the door and threatened her with a gun. She claims that he forced himself on her despite her resistance and recorded the incident on his mobile phone.

Under the threat of making the video public, Revanna allegedly continued to blackmail and assault the victim multiple times over the years. The shocking allegations have ignited a political storm, with the opposition BJP calling for Revanna’s immediate arrest and resignation. The CID is currently investigating the matter, and further developments are expected as the case unfolds.
