Amidst the ongoing sex scandal surrounding Prajwal Revanna, a Member of Parliament from Hassan, Karnataka, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi has targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), questioning who assisted the Karnataka MP in fleeing the country. Prajwal Revanna reportedly left India after the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the “obscene videos case.” Explicit video clips allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, have been circulating online.
Priyanka Chaturvedi also criticized the silence of National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma, Union Minister Smriti Irani, and Home Minister Amit Shah over the incident. She questioned the BJP’s inaction, stating that despite Revanna being an ally and sitting MP, the party has yet to sever ties.
Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge has also alleged that the BJP helped Hassan MP escape authorities. On Sunday, a case of sexual harassment and stalking was registered against Prajwal. Meanwhile, former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy stated that whoever is found responsible will face the consequences according to the law.
Prajwal Revanna, seeking re-election to the Lower House from Hassan as a candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has denied the allegations and claims he is being politically targeted.
