Actor Prakash Raj has expressed doubts over the election affidavit of Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram constituency.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Raj questioned Chandrasekhar’s claim of being poor, despite owning a media house and luxury cars. According to Chandrasekhar’s affidavit, his taxable income for 2021-2022 was a mere ₹680.
Raj alleged that Chandrasekhar has assets worldwide but has evaded taxes. He dared Chandrasekhar to come forward and answer his questions publicly.
Raj also criticized the BJP for its handling of electoral bonds and lack of support for farmers and other issues. He accused Chandrasekhar of having never fought an election before and using money to muscle his way into politics.
Regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Raj emphasized their importance in contemporary times. He expressed disappointment with the Left Democratic Front (LDF) for fielding a candidate against United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate and three-time MP Shashi Tharoor.
