Prakhar Asawa, a rising star from Jaipur’s Rambagh Golf Club, showcased his exceptional golfing skills at the recently concluded Gurgaon Open 2024, a prominent national golf tournament held at the Classic Golf & Country Club in Nuh, Haryana. Joining a field that included top Indian professionals like Manu Gandas, Rashid Khan, Aman Raj, Karan Pratap Singh, Sachin Baisoya, and Udayan Mane, Asawa also faced competition from notable international names. Despite challenging wind conditions and tricky pin positions, Asawa showcased unwavering resilience throughout the tournament, finishing tied for sixth place with a total score of 277. His final round performance of level par 72 exemplified his accuracy and consistency. Over the four days of grueling golfing conditions, Asawa’s scores of -3, -3, -5, and Par showcased his composure and presence at the highest level of golf in the country. This impressive performance stands as a testament to Asawa’s talent and hard work, marking a significant achievement for a Rajasthan golfer on the national stage. Bengaluru’s M Dharma emerged as the winner of the tournament, securing a five-shot lead with a total score of 270. Along with Asawa, other notable players who shared the sixth position included Rahil Gangjee, Udayan Mane, Rajiv K Jatiwal, Tapy Ghai, and Sachin Baisoya. The field also featured prominent foreign names such as N Thangaraja and K Prabagaran from Sri Lanka, Jamal Hossain and Badal Hossain from Bangladesh, and rookies Matias Dominguez of Chile and Subash Tamang of Nepal.
