Predators Tie Series with 4-1 Game 2 Victory over Canucks

Filip Forsberg and Anthony Beauvillier led the Nashville Predators to a 4-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series Tuesday night, tying the best-of-seven battle at 1-1.

Forsberg opened the scoring just 1:14 into the game, deflecting a shot past Canucks goalie Casey DeSmith. Beauvillier, who was traded from Vancouver to Chicago and then to Nashville this season, made it 2-0 midway through the second period. Colton Sissons extended the lead to 3-0 just over a minute later, and Forsberg added his second of the game to make it 4-0 at the 7:29 mark of the second.

Nikita Zadorov cut the deficit to 4-1 with less than five minutes to go in the second, but the Canucks couldn’t get any closer. Juuse Saros made 17 saves for the Predators, while DeSmith stopped 12 of 15 shots for the Canucks, who were without injured starting goaltender Thatcher Demko.

The series now shifts to Nashville for Game 3 on Friday night.
