In recognition of their outstanding contributions to various fields, President Droupadi Murmu conferred the esteemed Padma Awards to several eminent individuals on April 22, 2024. The awards, considered among the highest civilian honors in India, are classified into three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. These awards acknowledge exceptional achievements in fields such as art, literature, social work, science, and public service.
For 2024, the President approved a total of 132 Padma awards, inclusive of five Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan, and 110 Padma Shri awards. These awards serve as a testament to the extraordinary contributions made by these individuals to the nation’s progress and well-being.
