Princess Anne Injured in Incident at Gatcombe Park

Princess Anne, the 73-year-old sister of King Charles III, has sustained minor injuries and a concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate on Sunday, Buckingham Palace announced on Monday. The Princess Royal sustained the injuries on Sunday evening and is currently at Bristol’s Southmead Hospital as a “precautionary measure,” according to the palace statement.

Reports suggest that the incident involved a horse on the estate, potentially resulting in minor head wounds for the senior royal. The palace statement expressed the King’s well-wishes for Princess Anne’s swift recovery, stating, “The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole royal family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.”

The palace emphasized that Princess Anne, a prominent working royal, is “recovering well” and in a comfortable condition. However, due to medical advice, her scheduled engagements for the upcoming week will be postponed. This includes a trip to Canada planned for the end of the week and her attendance at the state banquet organized by her brother, King Charles III, in honor of Emperor Naruhito of Japan. Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako are currently visiting the UK.

Princess Anne was accompanied by her husband Sir Tim Laurence, daughter Zara Tindall, and brother Peter Phillips at the estate when the incident occurred. It is reported that Sir Tim Laurence accompanied his wife to the hospital.
