Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has thrown her support behind her brother and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi’s assertion that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan must be colluding with the BJP. She highlighted that the Narendra Modi government has not unleashed central agencies against Vijayan despite his alleged involvement in multiple scams.
Priyanka’s remarks come after an LDF legislator demanded a DNA test on Rahul to ascertain his lineage from the Nehru-Gandhi family, presumably in retaliation to his criticism of the chief minister.
Addressing a campaign rally for Rahul in Wayanad constituency’s Kambalakkad, Priyanka singled out Vijayan as an exception among opposition figures. She asserted that every other opposition functionary faces attacks, harassment, and imprisonment. She further claimed that BJP politicians have been caught with crores of rupees in their cars, but no action has been taken against them.
Priyanka lauded Rahul for bearing the brunt of abuse from both the BJP and now the LDF due to his unwavering stance against them. She highlighted the relentless attacks, slander, and false cases filed against him across the country to harass him. She condemned the insults hurled against his martyred father, grandmother, and great-grandfather, as well as the attacks on his family. Despite these challenges, Priyanka emphasized that Rahul remains steadfast in his fight for the people.
Priyanka also addressed rallies in Malappuram district’s Wandoor and Edakkara.
