Climate advocacy organization Protect Our Winters (POW) is thrilled to announce the hiring of Ryan as its first Chief Operating Officer. Ryan will lead Protect Our Winters and Protect Our Winter Action Fund’s (POW AF) operations, a significant step for the organization founded in 2007 by professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, including strong operational and leadership skills, as well as expertise in decarbonization. This expertise will be critical in advancing POW’s climate advocacy efforts.

Ryan’s commitment to sustainability began early in his career. He attended , where he stayed on after graduation to support the university’s sustainability strategy and lead the development of the world’s first campus-based carbon pricing program. He then spent over seven years at RMI (formerly known as Rocky Mountain Institute), a globally recognized nonprofit focused on market-based solutions to the energy transition, and Third Derivative, an RMI-launched accelerator for climate-tech startups with nearly 200 companies in its portfolio. At RMI, Ryan served as the chief of staff to co-founder , started and led the program, and directed research, policy, and innovation work on the transportation, electricity, and industry sectors.
