PSG Signs Rising Star Doue from Rennes for €50 Million

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has bolstered their midfield with the signing of 19-year-old prodigy Desire Doue from fellow Ligue 1 club Rennes. The highly-rated midfielder joins the Parisian giants on a five-year deal, committing his future to the club until 2029.

The transfer fee for Doue is reported to be a significant €50 million ($55.14 million), reflecting his immense potential and the strong interest he attracted from other clubs. Doue, who has been a part of the Rennes youth system since the age of five, has quickly risen through the ranks and made his senior debut for the club in 2022.

In the past two seasons, he has consistently impressed in Ligue 1, making 57 appearances and scoring seven goals. His performances for Rennes also earned him a spot in the French national team, where he played a key role in their silver medal-winning campaign at the recent Olympic Games.

Doue expressed his excitement about joining PSG, stating: “It is a great joy to join Paris St Germain. I feel excitement but also a lot of happiness and pride. It’s a dream come true today.”

PSG, who are aiming to defend their Ligue 1 title, kicked off their campaign with a resounding 4-1 victory away to Le Havre on Friday. The addition of Doue to their already star-studded squad further strengthens their bid for domestic and European glory.
