PUBG: Battlegrounds is taking a trip down memory lane by reintroducing its original Erangel map, Erangel Classic, for a limited time. From May 14 to May 28 on PC and May 23 to June 6 on consoles, players can revisit the iconic battlefield that kickstarted the battle royale phenomenon.
Erangel Classic aims to faithfully recreate the game’s original concepts, graphics, atmosphere, and UI. However, it will also incorporate modern gameplay tweaks to ensure a familiar yet enhanced experience. The map will feature foggy and rainy weather conditions, bench weapons on the starting island, reduced weapon recoil, a Tommy Gun in the care package, and a vintage map UI with a charmingly tacky font and graphics.
Krafton, the developer and publisher of PUBG: Battlegrounds, has stated that the Erangel Classic map will blend the old with the new, delivering the enjoyable gameplay experiences that players have grown accustomed to while preserving the original’s essence. The event’s staggered rollout across different platforms allows for extended playtime for those who own the game on multiple devices.
The Erangel Classic event is a testament to the enduring legacy of PUBG: Battlegrounds and its commitment to providing players with a diverse and engaging gaming experience.
