The coastal city of Pula, Croatia, is preparing to welcome a new jewel in its tourism crown. The Pula Heritage & Resort Hotel Monumenti, a €35 million investment, is set to open in spring 2025. This luxurious establishment represents the final phase of the ambitious Sv. Katarina-Monumenti project, a development exceeding €85 million in total investment.
Strategic Location and Stunning Views
Nestled on the grounds of a former Austro-Hungarian military barracks, the hotel boasts breathtaking views. Guests can enjoy panoramic vistas of the Polesana marina (featuring 450 berths), the serene Brijuni Islands, and a pristine sandy beach. The transformation of the original officer’s garden into a lavish oasis further enhances the hotel’s appeal, creating an idyllic setting for events.
Architectural Blend and Luxurious Amenities
The hotel’s architecture masterfully blends historical preservation with contemporary design. One wing retains the original barracks structure, offering 58 rooms, while a modern glass wing adds 40 more rooms and eight opulent apartments. The interiors feature soothing pastel shades, nautical themes, and subtle military motifs, creating a unique atmosphere. A range of high-end amenities is planned. These include a 1,500-square-meter beachfront, an indoor heated pool, a rejuvenating spa and wellness center, saunas, a fitness area, and a sizable conference hall with a capacity exceeding 300 people. While officially classified as a four-star property, the hotel promises five-star service and amenities.
Economic Impact and Job Creation
This project is expected to significantly contribute to Pula’s economy, creating approximately 70 jobs in various roles, from chefs and receptionists to marketing professionals.
