During a press conference, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that sections 120 (B), 467 Forgery, and 201, 213, 214 Destruction of Evidence have been added to the case. The forensic report revealed that the blood sample collected at Sassoon Hospital and sent to the forensics by the accused juvenile was not his sample.

Preliminary investigations indicate that on May 19, around 11 am, the blood sample taken at Sassoon Hospital was disposed of in a hospital dustbin. A different person’s blood sample was subsequently collected and sent to the forensic lab. The hospital’s CMO, Srihari Halnor, allegedly replaced the original sample on the instructions of the HOD of Forensic Medicine Department, Ajay Tawre.

The investigation began after the death of two IT professionals in a motorcycle accident involving a speeding Porsche car allegedly driven by the 17-year-old on May 19. The police suspect the teenager was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
