Pune Porsche Crash: Grandfather of Accused Attempts to Conceal Truth

The grandfather of the 17-year-old juvenile accused in the Pune Porsche crash has reportedly attempted to conceal the truth by threatening and confining the family driver. According to an NDTV report, the driver has stated that he was summoned by the grandfather shortly after the incident and subjected to verbal abuse. The grandfather then forcibly transported the driver to their residence, where he was deprived of his mobile phone and held against his will. During his confinement, the driver was instructed to take the blame for the accident and warned against speaking about it.

The Pune Police Commissioner, Amitesh Kumar, has confirmed that the driver’s initial statement at the police station indicated that he was driving the car. However, the police found this account to be implausible and proceeded with an investigation that led to the juvenile being charged with the offense.

Meanwhile, the Yerawada police have registered separate charges against the juvenile’s grandfather and father based on a complaint filed by the driver. The charges include kidnapping with intent to confine and wrongful confinement.

The Pune Police’s crime branch unit has conducted an investigation at the juvenile’s residence with the assistance of the driver. This investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the case progresses through the legal system.
