Senior IPS officer Gurinder Singh Dhillon announced his decision to take voluntary retirement after 34 years of dedicated service. Dhillon, who held the position of Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) in Punjab Police, dismissed rumors about his potential entry into politics.
Despite being the subject of intense speculation, Dhillon stated that he had not given any thought to a political career. He expressed his current state of liberation and openness to future possibilities.
Dhillon, a 1997-batch IPS officer, commenced his career as the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Jalandhar. Throughout his service, he held various significant roles in intelligence, the anti-drug special task force, the bureau of investigation, and other wings.
Originally from Mulianwal village in Gurdaspur district, Dhillon currently resides in Patiala. His decision to opt for voluntary retirement and his non-committal stance on joining politics have garnered attention and sparked discussions about his future endeavors.
