Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has highlighted a significant change in Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s lifestyle since she assumed office. Bukhari stated that Maryam now prefers simple and understated clothing, departing from her previous wardrobe choices. This shift has been noted by observers and has sparked discussions on social media.
In response to allegations that CM Nawaz wears expensive and branded clothes, Minister Bukhari defended her, clarifying that while she may occasionally wear such clothing, she now prefers simplicity and comfort. Bukhari emphasized that Maryam’s personal choices should not be the focus of public criticism and that her performance as the provincial chief executive should hold more importance.
Bukhari went on to discuss the various initiatives undertaken by the Punjab government under Maryam’s leadership, highlighting their practical value and emphasizing that they are not mere paperwork but will be implemented and completed. She also mentioned the ‘Panic Helpline’ app, which provides assistance to vulnerable sections of society and is not limited to women. Its integration with the police control system ensures a prompt response to emergency calls.
Furthermore, Bukhari announced a breakfast meal program for 500,000 children in South Punjab, which is set to commence in two months. This initiative aims to address food insecurity and promote the well-being of children in underprivileged areas.
