Punjab FC has made a significant appointment to bolster its youth development program, bringing in Giuseppe Cristaldi as the new Technical Director. This move follows the departure of Ed Engelkes, who held the position from December 2021 to July 2024.
Cristaldi, a 37-year-old native of San Severo, Italy, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He has spent over 15 years nurturing young talent, working with the youth sides of prominent clubs such as Empoli FC in Italy, Hibernians FC in Scotland, and Gzira United FC in Malta. Most recently, he served as the Technical Director of Lithuanian club Utenis.
In his new role at Punjab FC, Cristaldi will be responsible for leading the technical framework for the club’s youth academy and development centers. He will play a crucial role in developing and standardizing coaching methodologies and assessment tools, ensuring a high level of training and development for young players. This appointment signifies Punjab FC’s commitment to investing in the future of the club through its youth program.
