PWHL Minnesota One Point Away from Playoff Berth in Final Home Game

PWHL Minnesota is on the verge of clinching a playoff spot as they host Boston in their final home game of the regular season on Saturday at Xcel Energy Center. The team, currently sitting in third place in the PWHL standings, needs just one point to secure their playoff berth. A regulation win, an overtime or shootout victory, or even an overtime or shootout loss would be enough to send Minnesota to the postseason.

Boston, on the other hand, is fighting for their playoff lives and will be looking to keep their hopes alive against Minnesota. The team is currently in fifth place and needs a win to stay in contention.

Minnesota has had two chances to clinch a playoff spot since the PWHL resumed play on April 18 following a break for the world championships. However, losses at Montreal and Ottawa kept the team waiting and stalled their momentum from a five-game win streak before the break.

With three games remaining in the regular season, Minnesota sits three points behind co-leaders Toronto and Montreal and could still secure home-ice advantage for the four-team playoffs.

Forward Grace Zumwinkle continues to lead Minnesota in points (17) and goals (10) and will be a key player to watch in Saturday’s game.
