Qantas Announces Additional Flights from Bengaluru to Sydney for Peak Season
Qantas, Australia’s national carrier, has announced that it will be adding daily flights from Bengaluru to Sydney to cater to the strong demand during the upcoming peak holiday season. The increased flight frequency will be effective from mid-December 2024 to late March 2025, bringing the total number of weekly flights between the two cities to seven.
Increased Capacity and Convenient Timings
The additional flights will add over 12,000 seats between Bengaluru and Sydney, providing travelers with more options and flexibility. The flights are timed to carry more travelers to Australia during the summer months, while also helping families and friends reconnect during the holiday period.
Commenting on the Expansion
Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said, “Demand for travel between India and Australia continues to be incredibly strong, so we’re pleased to be responding with extra flights to Sydney.”
Bangalore International Airport Chief Operating Officer Satyaki Raghunath added, “We are delighted by the impressive success that Qantas has experienced at BLR Airport. This expansion will deliver added convenience and flexibility to travelers from South and Central India.”
Qantas’ Commitment to Passenger Comfort and Amenities
Qantas’ flights between India and Australia are operated using Airbus A330 aircraft, which feature 27 Business Class suites in a comfortable 1-2-1 configuration. Each suite offers direct aisle access and converts into a lie-flat bed, ensuring a relaxing and comfortable journey. All Qantas international fares include a generous checked baggage allowance, complimentary food and beverages, and inflight entertainment as standard with every booking.
Introduction of Fast and Free Wi-Fi
Qantas is committed to enhancing the inflight experience for its passengers. The airline has recently announced the acceleration of its program to introduce ‘fast and free’ Wi-Fi across its existing fleet of international aircraft, including the A330 aircraft used on the Bengaluru-Sydney route. This service will be progressively rolled out from next year, providing passengers with a reliable and high-speed internet connection during their flights.
