The new route provides seamless connections between Kinshasa and Qatar Airways’ extensive network across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, via the airline’s Doha hub. Hamad International Airport has been recognized as the ‘World’s Best Airport’ by Skytrax in 2024, offering passengers a state-of-the-art travel experience.
This strategic expansion by Qatar Airways aligns with its commitment to enhancing air connectivity across Africa, fostering stronger economic, business, and cultural ties. Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, emphasized the airline’s recognition of the immense potential in Africa and their dedication to enabling seamless access to business and leisure opportunities throughout the continent.
The four weekly services to Kinshasa will also boost capacity to Angola, increasing flights to Luanda from one to four. This addition complements Qatar Airways’ over 170 weekly flights across Africa, highlighting the airline’s commitment to connecting the continent.
Since December 2020, Qatar Airways has expanded its African operations significantly, adding nine new destinations: Abidjan, Abuja, Accra, Kinshasa, Harare, Kano, Luanda, Lusaka, and Port Harcourt. The resumption of services to Cairo and Alexandria further strengthens the airline’s presence in the region.
In the past year, Qatar Airways has optimized schedules in most African markets to ensure convenient connections to China. Luanda and now Kinshasa offer seamless connections to key markets such as Belgium, France, Portugal, and the Middle East.
