Qatar and Djibouti Explore Tourism Collaboration

On May 9, 2024, Qatar Tourism Chairman Saad bin Ali Al Kharji met with representatives from the Republic of Djibouti to explore collaboration opportunities in their respective tourism industries. The Qatari delegation welcomed Minister of Commerce and Tourism of the Republic of Djibouti Mohamed Warsama Dirieh along with other officials for discussions at Qatar Tourism headquarters.

Both parties discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties and improve the tourism sector in Djibouti. Qatar Tourism proposed providing training opportunities and resources to strengthen Djibouti’s tourism workforce. The training initiatives will focus on Service Excellence, which has been meticulously developed in two phases by Qatar Tourism’s Service Excellence department.

The meeting highlighted Qatar Tourism’s commitment to expanding collaborations with international tourism governing bodies and fostering international cooperation for growth in line with the tourism strategy 2030. Qatar Tourism aims to support the tourism sector in Djibouti by sharing expertise and providing training opportunities for international teams.
