Qatar Tourism Shines at ITB China 2024, Unveiling New Attractions and Investment Opportunities

Qatar Tourism actively participated in ITB China 2024, held in Shanghai from May 27th to 29th. The event was a key opportunity for Qatar to showcase its latest attractions and assert itself as a prime destination for tourists, as well as to encourage investments within the travel and tourism sectors.

Qatar Tourism led a group of 16 partners from the hospitality and travel sectors to the event. ITB China, a trade show dedicated exclusively to B2B interactions within the Chinese travel market, gathers top professionals from across the globe. It is renowned for fostering productive discussions, facilitating networking, and enhancing business opportunities through various events and exchanges. This year, the expo was hosted at the Shanghai World Expo and Exhibition Center.

Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Omar Al Jaber, Acting Chief of the Tourism Development Sector at Qatar Tourism, said: “Through its participation at ITB China 2024, Qatar Tourism showcased the country’s recent developments, achievements, and advancements in travel and tourism sectors to industry leaders from around the world. Qatar Tourism is dedicated to improving visitors’ tourism experience. Exhibitions such as ITB China provide a platform for Qatar Tourism to attract investors and highlight Qatar’s best touristic offerings.”

ITB China is instrumental in presenting emerging trends in the Chinese travel market to global investors and stakeholders, aiming to boost Chinese tourism in the years to come. As China remains one of the top 15 priority markets for Qatar Tourism, ITB China is crucial for promoting Qatar’s travel offerings both within China and globally.

Earlier in March, at ITB Berlin 2024, Qatar Tourism unveiled their ‘Double the Discovery’ initiative, in collaboration with the Saudi Tourism Authority. This initiative offers tourists an opportunity to visit significant cultural and historical sites in both Qatar and Saudi Arabia in a single journey. Additionally, Qatar Tourism highlighted their Stopover Packages, developed in partnership with Qatar Airways, designed for travelers with limited time to experience Qatar.

Qatar Tourism, the governing body of Qatar’s tourism sector, is committed to promoting and expanding tourism by leveraging the country’s rich cultural heritage, developing exciting attractions, and offering luxurious experiences. With a vision to solidify Qatar’s reputation as a leading family tourism destination known for exceptional service, Qatar Tourism aims to foster economic diversity and innovation by regulating and expanding the tourism industry and encouraging private sector investment.
