Quebec Police Arrest 40 Sex Offenders in Multi-Force Operation

Quebec provincial police have successfully arrested 40 sex offenders in a collaborative operation involving numerous police forces across the province. The operation focused on individuals deemed to be at high risk of reoffending. Police targeted offenders who had violated court-imposed conditions and those subject to arrest warrants. During the operation, they identified and apprehended a significant number of individuals who had violated an order to register with the national sex offender registry. Commencing on April 2nd, the operation involved 24 municipal police forces, including those of Montreal and Quebec City. Captain Steve Cadieux of the provincial police emphasized the significance of collaboration among police forces, prosecutors, and corrections services in achieving successful outcomes.
