Indian cricket head coach Rahul Dravid exercised his voting right in Bengaluru on Friday, April 26, during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Amidst his hectic schedule, Dravid took the time to cast his vote and share a significant message with India’s youth.
Speaking to the media after voting, Dravid highlighted the significance of these elections and the democratic process. He urged all citizens, especially the youth, to seize this opportunity to contribute to the nation’s progress. Emphasizing the smooth arrangements made by the authorities, Dravid expressed his hope that Bengaluru would set a record in voter turnout.
While the country is engrossed in the election fervor, Dravid remains focused on the Indian Premier League (IPL). With the T20 World Cup 2024 approaching, India aims to finalize its top 15 players by the end of April. Dravid has previously indicated that the IPL performances will play a crucial role in team selection, given India’s limited T20I exposure leading up to the global event scheduled for June.
The IPL 2024 has witnessed fluctuations in the form of some key Indian players like Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, who are generally considered automatic selections for the national side. India will be eager to secure the title this year after finishing as runners-up in the previous edition held in Australia in 2022.
