RAI Jets, a Part 135 certified aircraft charter and management company based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, has announced the latest addition to its fleet: the Beechcraft Premier I. This sleek and efficient light business jet is a welcome addition to RAI Jets’ existing range of turboprops, midsize, and super-midsize jets, expanding options for both business and leisure travelers. The Premier I is now available for charter, offering a luxurious, fuel-efficient, and versatile option for clients.
“We expect the Premier I to become one of our most popular aircraft due to its speed, luxury interior, and fuel efficiency,” said David Riley, Director of Operations at RAI Jets. The Beechcraft Premier, originally introduced by Raytheon/Hawker Beechcraft (now part of Textron Aviation), has earned its reputation as a premium business jet since its first production in 1998. RAI Jets’ Premier I, a 2005 model, is widely favored by corporate executives, private owners, and charter operators for its blend of performance and comfort.
“The addition of the Premier I to our fleet aligns with our commitment to offer a full range of aircraft options tailored to our clients’ needs. Despite being classified as a light jet, the Premier I delivers features typically found in much larger jets,” added Riley.
One standout feature of the Premier I is its spacious cabin, offering more interior room than many other aircraft in its class. With a cabin height of 5 feet, 5 inches, and a width of 5 feet, 6 inches, it provides ample headroom and shoulder space for up to six passengers, ensuring a comfortable travel experience. Designed with aesthetics and functionality in mind, the interior features ergonomic seating, generous storage, and large windows for abundant natural light.
In terms of performance, the Beechcraft Premier I impresses with its speed. While many light jets are capped at 480 mph, the Premier I, powered by two Williams FJ44-2A engines, reaches a maximum cruise speed of 523 mph (454 knots). This makes it an ideal choice for executives who need to cover large distances quickly, traveling with colleagues in comfort. With a range of approximately 850 nautical miles, the Premier I can accommodate non-stop flights between major cities such as New York and Miami.
The Premier I also boasts advanced aerodynamics, featuring a high-strength composite fuselage that reduces weight and a “swept wing” design for superior aerodynamic performance. These features combine to ensure a smooth, comfortable ride, even at high speeds. Moreover, the aircraft’s versatility shines through with its ability to land at airports with shorter runways, making it a perfect option for travelers seeking access to more remote destinations. Its efficient design also makes it one of the most fuel-conscious aircraft in its class, further adding to its appeal for eco-conscious travelers.
“Given its speed, luxury, and efficiency, we expect the Premier I to be a top choice for our customers,” said Riley. “We are excited to add this aircraft to our charter fleet and offer it to our clients.”
