Raid Bimbache Adventure Race Returns to Adventure Racing World Series in Morocco

The Raid Bimbache adventure race, originating from the Canary Island of El Hierro in 2003, has garnered a reputation as one of the most challenging and immersive races in the ARWS. Over the years, it has traversed across Spain, climaxing as the World Championship in Castilla y Leon.

The upcoming edition, scheduled from April 27th to May 4th, 2025, marks the race’s debut on a new continent as an ARWS Qualifier. Antonio de la Rosa, the renowned adventurer and course designer, brings a wealth of experience to the race. A seasoned athlete, he has achieved feats such as winning a solo Atlantic rowing race, pioneering the 1000km Lapland Extreme Challenge, and crossing the Pacific from San Francisco to Hawaii on a stand-up paddleboard.

The race’s Technical Director and course planner, Jesus Bermejo, has meticulously designed the route to showcase the diverse landscapes of Morocco. Teams will navigate through mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, and deserts, completing a challenging 430km route.

The medieval city of Marrakech, a prime tourist destination renowned for its vibrant markets, mosques, palaces, and gardens, will serve as the starting and finishing point for the race. Additionally, a parallel tour designed for the families and friends of the participants will provide an opportunity to explore Morocco’s rich culture and landmarks.

Team registration is now open at www.raidbimbache.com, capped at 40 teams. The entry fee is set at 2600 euros per team, covering all event logistics, team support, and two nights in a 4-star hotel.

ARWS CEO Heidi Muller expressed her delight at the return of the historic Raid Bimbache to the ARWS. She praised Antonio de la Rosa’s experience and the race’s expansion into North Africa, in the captivating setting of Morocco.
