Within the Las Vegas Raiders’ pre-draft strategy sessions, head coach Antonio Pierce and newly appointed general manager Tom Telesco have divergent opinions regarding the team’s quarterback future.
Pierce advocates for trading up in the first round to acquire a quarterback. Telesco, on the other hand, is content with the current quarterback group, which includes free agent signee Gardner Minshew.
Telesco’s stance may be shifting, with reports suggesting he could consider drafting Michael Penix Jr. with the 13th pick. Meanwhile, Pierce desires Jayden Daniels, a player he has a personal connection with.
The Raiders are presented with options to trade up for Daniels, but Telesco remains hesitant to part with significant draft capital. Pierce, however, is eager to secure the player he believes can lead the franchise into the future.
Both Pierce and Daniels have expressed a desire for a reunion, but the ultimate decision rests with general manager Adam Peters of the Washington Commanders, who currently hold the rights to Daniels.
